Registration for the Fall 2019 M3 after school enrichment program begins on Saturday, September 21 at 8am. Classes begin October 7 and are held for 6 weeks from 2:35 to 3:35 pm

Monday Classes ARTS, CRAFTS & SEWING - M. Williams Join us for exploring different types of arts & crafts. We will make a dream catcher, a key chain, sew a bag, create prints and try weaving! Grades 1-3, $50, Limit 10. TRASH TO TREASURE - K. T. Hughes Create arts from recycled materials, a great way to use your creativity and create special pieces from everyday trash. Grades 1-5, $50, Limit 14. CRAFTING FOR A PURPOSE - K. Walker & H. McDonnell A great way to incorporate a love of animals and creativity, students will create projects that will be donated to local animal shelters Grades 2-5, $50, Limit 14. CURSIVE-Ellen Patterson Students will learn how to write each letter of the alphabet as well as words, sentences and their full names. Cursive helps students think of words as wholes instead of parts. Grades 3-5, $50, Limit 12.
Tuesday Classes TIE DYE- Elaine Broadus It’s time to tie dye! Boys and girls join us while we tie dye socks, bookmarks and ceramic tiles. Make some cool sand art, Halloween crayons and more. Grades K-2, $50, Limit 10. YOUNG ARCHITECTS- L. Richardson & H. Mills Let’s design and build! Students will investigate building designs through books and a range of building materials. We’ll document the creations with photos and send everyone home with a set of pictures on the last day of class. Grades K-3, $50, Limit 20. LEGOS/CHESS - Kathy Tillar Hughes Students will alternate to learn and play chess and work on individual and group projects to build LEGO structures using engineering, physics and architectural principles. Grades K-5, $50, Limit 25. TYPING - Ellen Patterson Join us for a fun online typing program with interactive typing curriculum. Brand new students can join and returning students can pick up where they left off. Grades 2-5, $50, Limit 10. KIDS CODING - Elizabeth Waterbury Kids will learn and play with Drag and Drop style coding at their own pace. We will look at Scratch Jr., Code.org, Kodable, Google coding challenges, and other resources. A great introduction to coding and logic! Grades 2-5, $50, Limit 10. CHALKBOARD CREATIONS- S. Breeden Students will use a palette of chalk paints and stencils to create fun and personal holiday pieces. Your child will bring home their finished creations. Grades 4-5, $50, Limit 16.
Wednesday Classes BOOKS, TREATS & MORE -E. Broadus Listen to a delightful book and eat a yummy treat each week. . On our last week, each child will choose one of these 6 books to take home. Grades K-2, $50, Limit 8. NATURE TRAIL ADVENTURES-S. MUELLER Come explore the outdoor spaces at VLM. Students will hike the nature trail and create art in the outdoor classroom. This session happens rain or shine so dress appropriately.! Grades 1-2 , $50, Limit 8. CRAFTY CREATIONS - Valerie Parks We’ll do a variety of craft projects using mixed art materials, including paint, beads, yarn, etc! Grades 1-3, $50, Limit 10. MINI MAKERS- H. Mills Mini-makers is back with new projects! Sticker castles, nature crowns, symmetry sculptures, stick loom weaving. Join me for fun filled afternoons of making together! Grades -1-3, $50. Limit 10. FUN FALL EXPLORATIONS - L. Richardson Let's explore apples, acorns, pine cones and pumpkins, and of course the changing leaves through science, engineering, math and reading! Students will appreciate the season in new ways as we think and act like scientists and mathematicians. Grades 1-4, $50. Limit 14. BEGINNING UKULELE- L. Corradino Students will learn the basics of Ukulele. Strumming patterns, a few chords and be able to accompany folk songs with the ukulele. Grades 2-5, $50, Limit 12. ACTIVE GAMES - Kathy Tillar Hughes Play soccer, football or lacrosse in the gym or outside with other active kids. Grades 3-5, $50, Limit 25.
Thursday Classes COOKING AROUND THE WORLD - K. Walker & H. McDonnell Each week students will make a snack from a different country while learning about that country at the same time. Grades 1-5, $50, Limit 14. CHALKBOARD CREATIONS- S. Breeden Students will use a palette of chalk paints and stencils to create fun and personal holiday pieces. Your child will bring home their finished creations. Grades 2-3, $50, Limit 12. HANDMADE HOLIDAY CRAFTS- J. Bowersett Kids will create a variety of crafts appropriate for giving as gifts to friends and family. We’ll also spend one day wrapping them and creating tags to be ready for gift giving during the winter holidays. Grades 3-5, Limit 12.
Friday Classes READING MONSTERS- E. Broadus Design a monster and teach it how to read. Learn to master the trickies. (Trickies are sight words) For beginning readers. Grades K-1, Limit 10. CREATIVITY FROM OUR BACKYARD- K. Walker & H. McDonnell Students will explore "our backyard" for fun, interesting items to create art. Grades K-5, Limit 14. STEAM CHALLENGES- V. Park We'll work through problem solving challenges involving science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Students will design, create, build, and test out their inventions to see if they meet the objectives of the challenge! Grades K-2, Limit 10.
