I hope everyone is recovering from the four-day weekend. It’s hard for me to believe the first grading period is over and in two weeks we will be breaking for Thanksgiving. The PTO has accomplished much in the first few months of school. Please remember to donate to our fall fund drive which is still ongoing so we can continue the tradition of providing programs and services to the school.
Next week is the Scholastic Book Fair, another PTO event, that benefits the school library. Book sales kick off on Wednesday, November 15 with Family Night from 2:30-7:00 pm. There will be door prizes and a bake sale to benefit the 5th grade field trip. Additional details can be found elsewhere in this newsletter.
The next PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 1:30 in the Teacher’s Lounge. Please join us to hear and discuss the latest PTO business.
This week we will be announcing the winners of the Candy Drive. Special thanks to Dr. Dave Maybee and Allie Hill for taking on this annual project.

CANDY COLLECTION CONTEST DEADLINE EXTENDED TO TOMORROW!
The Murray Candy Collection Contest will still accept candy donated on Wednesday, November 8. The candy weighing results will be announced on Thursday morning. The winning classroom will win tickets to JUMP trampoline park for the entire class! The Candy Collection contest is sponsored by local dentist, Dr. Dave Maybee. Students in each classroom will receive free toothbrushes courtesy of Dr. Maybee's office.

Our book fair is next week! All proceeds benefit the library and enable book purchases, maker space activities, and author visits. The book fair is also open online 11/15 - 12/5 at www.scholastic.com/bf/vlmurray.

GARDEN DAYS AT MURRAY 11/17
Did you know that there is an amazing outdoor classroom? Our students use it to explore nature along our woods and nature trail. The outdoor classroom needs our help! There is some brush to clean up, some dead trees to cut up, and picnic tables to move. Please bring your tools: string trimmers, chainsaws, pruners, etc.

Time: 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Where: Outdoor Classroom, just below the lower track on the far side past the soccer field.

Congratulations to Ms. Schork's class for gathering the most Box Tops in October! They brought in over 200 and will be celebrating with a popsicle party. And congratulations to Laine Cooper from Ms. Schork's class for winning the random drawing prize for participants.
